You may have read in my profile, I am a quilter. I hand piece my quilts. If you are new to quilting, hand piecing means I only sew by hand. This is very relaxing and allows me to take my work with me. I have always disliked using a sewing machine. The thread would break or jam and the bobbin would run out leaving me frustrated. This led to the end of my use of the sewing machine.
I was introduced to the art of hand appliqué by a woman who saw me working on a counted cross stitch pattern and thought I might enjoy doing hand appliqué. I later became interested in the beautiful quilting my mom was doing. Over the ten or twelve years I have been quilting I have shared the joy of quilting with my mom. Finding a great fabric store, a new quilt book or pattern was a thrill for both of us. We could be found in our big television room quilting. Mom would be working by machine and I would be hand piecing. Usually a football game or Matlock rerun would be on. Great memories.
I hope to share my love of hand quilting with others and keep the art alive through this blog. I will share projects past, present and future through written word and photos. I also will share great finds. I also want to honor my mom's memory and keep Annie's Quilting Legacy alive.
